Homage à Bertini

Eduard Douša

While writing this cycle, Eduard Douša was inspired with Etudes op. 100 by H. Bertini. He says: „When I got acquinted with these etudes of once famous pedagogist Henry Bertini, I realized again, that an etude does not have to be just means of mechanical practising particular technical issues of the instrument. Thus I attempted to write etudes no less melodic and inventive in style, but using the musical language that is common in contemporary music.“
